Kevin Henry has made an impact on the music scene since he
moved to California, garnering praise from both local and
national media. Called "one of the town's hottest live
acts" by Los Angeles Times, Henry was also named one
of the "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists" by Music Connection,
won the Los Angeles Music Award for "Outstanding Male
Singer/Songwriter," and has had several songs appear
on television, including his song "Next Year" on
NBC's Friends.
A modern day piano man, Henry's style of writing and performing
has attracted an audience of diverse musical tastes. A recent
LA Weekly article compared Henry to pop icons Elton John,
Billy Joel, Supertramp and New Order, before concluding with,
"Henry has his own marvelous sound."
Henry regularly headlines the main stage at House Of Blues,
has performed in numerous showcases and charity events, and
has toured both the U.S. and Europe.
Kevin Henry was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, once
described as "15 square miles surrounded by reality".
An ideal environment for the young artist, Henry took full
advantage: singing and playing the piano by the age of 4,
publishing his first song at 8, and performing regularly in
civic theatre productions.
At the age of 18, Henry moved to New York City's East Village
where he expanded his creative development under the sharper
realities of the city. After graduating cum laude from N.
Y.U. with a degree in Dramatic Literature, Henry formed the
band, "GOTHAM", released the CD Invisible Ghetto,
and toured the U.S. and Europe. Henry went on to collaborate
on the trip-hop album Outlet by R&B producer Joe Wize,
and wrote and produced 3 songs for RCA recording artist, Tina
Moore.
