I've been playing music most of my life. My father was a musician
& songwriter so I guess it's in the blood. I started out
playing drums then harmonica and settled in with the guitar
in the early 70's.
I've worked in cover bands playing country, rock and blues
in some of the worse bars in southern California. I backed
up several singer/songwriters through the 1980's which was
good experience for me. I learned a lot about running a band
by watching these guys in action, especially what not to do.
By the mid 80's I was burned out with my musical situation,
my personal life was pretty much a mess and I lost my father.
Little did I realize at the time, I was living out the songs
I would soon be writing. I started writing songs, poems and
stories early in my life. But in the late 1980's I really
began to take songwriting serious. I put together my first
band as frontman. It was called "Dale Peterson and the
Lords of Rhythm". Later I dropped my name and just called
it "Rhythm Lords".
"If you are looking for one of the top local groups,
look no further. The Rhythm Lords have staked their turf and
ain't no one going to take it away." - Jon Pepper (Southland
Blues magazine)
