STEEL WAVE is San Diego's most unique band. They are both a great cover band and a truly artistic original band. Originally forming as "The F.B.I." in 1994, the band became known as Steel Wave in 2000 with the release of their debut CD, "Scenic Route." This well received CD contains 15 original songs in their own unique style, mixing rock, pop, blues and R&B.
On the cover side, Steel Wave can play an amazing variety of styles. Specializing in Classic Rock, this talented quintet can play literally any style from rock to disco, blues, jazz standards, oldies, top 40 and ballads. Featuring studio and stage veterans, who have worked with or opened for Little Anthony, The Coasters, Drifters, Elvin Bishop, Samantha Cook, Don Costa, and Gene Simmons of KISS, this group of pros are perfect for any occasion.
Some of the venues they have performed at as both Steel Wave and F.B.I, include Viejas Casino, Sycuan Casino, Casino Pauma, La Paloma Theater, The Del Mar Fair, La Costa Resort and Spa, The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, Balboa Park, Neiman's and over 5 years of regular performances at the Raintree in Carlsbad. They also have played at countless weddings, street fairs, corporate functions, fundraisers and parties.
