Linda Hopkins
You're not quite sure what to think when Linda Hopkins steps
on the stage. From all appearances, you'd really expect to
see her at a PTA meeting rather than comedy club. But as she
begins you realize she's right where she belongs. Good natured
and to the point, she puts her own unique spin on this thing
called "reality", which is sarcastic and just this
side of cynical. If life is a series of lessons, Linda is
in the back of the class making smart ass remarks to her friends.
Born and raised in Houston Texas, she could only qualify for
a Southern "Liberty" belle because she's just a
little cracked. Being a tomboy, she realized that playfully
teasing the boys was fun and they enjoyed the attention. After
growing up, they still do. Linda is the middle child of a
typically dysfunctional family but doesn't put much stock
in therapy unless it comes with a cover charge and a two drink
minimum. Always trying to fit in, she's your typical misfit
(though she prefers the term "tragically un-hip")
but always delightfully funny. Linda's humor is built around
her own shortcomings, her wacky ex-husband, the pitfalls of
being a "Martha Stewart" wanna be and just trying
find her place in this great big world. Her material ranges
from squeaky clean to periwinkle blue and draws on her worldly
naiveté. If she seems like a walking paradox, you can
blame it on her writing team, even if they all live in her
head.
